They say charity begins at home and that is certainly true of our wonderful customers at Christopher Place. Throughout our Christmas period, our shoppers kindly and generously donated during our exciting events and we are proud to announce that nearly £500 has been raised along with collecting presents from our Giving Tree.
From gingerbread man decorating to gift wrapping, from snow globes to reindeers, while our customers supported our events, our team were busy collecting on behalf of the British Heart Foundation and Small Acts of Kindness. The Giving Tree in Santa’s Post Office also gave people the opportunity to buy requested gifts for the residents of Fosse House, St Albans.
A total of £300.21 was raised for British Heart Foundation, £161.65 for Small Acts of Kindness and 17 gifts were donated to Fosse House from our Giving Tree (pictured).
So we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended our events and made donations, as without you we simply couldn’t have donated as much money as we did and we wouldn’t have had the best ‘Christmas at Christopher Place’ ever.
“A very big thank you to all the customers and staff at Christopher Place for your kind donation to the BHF. It will help us in our mission to beat the heartbreak that so many families go through because of heart and circulatory diseases, and your kindness is much appreciated.” Dr Janet Woodall, BHF Community Fundraising Manager for Hertfordshire.
“We extend a huge thank you to the generous Christopher Place Christmas shoppers for their kindness and support. Many older people simply do not receive any gifts and a donation of £10 helps purchase gifts for an older person who would otherwise be alone at Christmas.” Lynne Misner, CEO, Small Acts of Kindness.
“What a wonderful and generous thing of the St. Albans community to have done for the residents of Fosse House. As we are a not for profit organisation we rely on staff fundraising for the amenity fund to purchase special things for our residents and these kind of donations really do go such a long way in helping us to benefit our residents. Thank you for the Christmas spirit that was shared!” Zoe Hiscox, Manager at Fosse House.
